SCHAUDT / SERWEMA PF5 - 1500

Schaudt precision for shafts up to 1500 mm in length and 500 mm in diameter – completely overhauled and modernized by Serwema Retrofit Solutions, Chemnitz. The PF5 is one of the most reliable external cylindrical grinding machines in its class: rigid bed, 20 kW grinding spindle, 600 kg between centers. Serwema completely rebuilds it, with a Siemens Sinumerik 840D sl, Sinamics S120, direct measuring systems in X and Z, and an automatic B-axis that swivels the grinding spindle from -45° to +225°: longitudinal, face, and taper grinding, shoulder grinding, and with an optional internal grinding spindle, also boring – in a single setup, without manual retooling. Proven Schaudt mechanics, new electrical systems, new drives, new safety technology: you get the performance of a new machine at a fraction of the price, inspected in Chemnitz together with you.

The user-friendly interface guides the operator through work piece, wheel, and cycle data screens without the need for programming. Marposs balancing and dressing systems reduce non-productive time and protect the grinding wheel; grinding wheels up to 600 mm in diameter and 125 mm in width with a peripheral speed of 50 m/s allow for high material removal rates during rough grinding and the finest surface finishes during finishing. Application areas: shafts, spindles, rollers, hydraulic pistons, and gear components in mechanical engineering, drive technology, the printing and paper industry, and contract grinding shops.
